[RE-wrenches] XWPro and SCP

I know this has been discussed before but I couldn’t find what I needed in archives. 

If I have a single XWpro with 600v controller and all i want to do is some programing can I use the SCP?
I just remember there were things the SCP can’t so with the PRO, but I think its in the stacking part and not basic programing, but again, not sure.

Or do I need to use the gateway.
