sounds strange to me. is the service 120 208 meaning 120 to neutral, and
120 to neutral and 208 between phases? meaning you are two legs of a
3-phase? if you are trying to use a single phase 240 volt inverter, be
careful of the inverter wiring. some inverters can not be connected
because you do not have a single phase .
