Definitely a good idea to consider the voltage ranges. Sometimes
"oversizing" a microinverter can be slightly detrimental. That said, in
most cases you will hit the Voc startup voltage very early and since the
MPPT operating range is wider than the startup range, it's unlikely that
the microinverter will shut down unless it's very dark. 16V on the lower
end of most options takes you very close to sunset. but it probably doesn't
matter much because the irradiance will be so low that energy harvest will
be next to nil at that time.
In my climate we are using DC to AC ratios of up to 1.35x, so I don't worry
to much about degradation, but I imagine in cooler climates where ratios
may be lower, this could become a concern, especially at suboptimal
orientations.
