[RE-wrenches] Wind machines

We installed a total of six different small vertical axis wind turbines in
San Francisco at Crissy Field starting over 10 years ago. I'll paste a
screenshot of the street view below. The systems were very well monitored
but unfortunately the webpage is now down. Long story short, the inverters
used more power (just standby loads) than the turbines produced. The best
turbine produced annually about what a single 200 watt PV module would
produce. So, don't install VAWT if you want any energy!
