[RE-wrenches] SMA SB and LiFe

Hey Glenn,
I just started running a LIFEPO4 battery with a Sunny Island, no closed loop communication but with settings pretty much what Fortress
has on their Sunny Island sheet. Settings are lower than what some LIFE’s specify, to avoid a voltage jump / high voltage error at the end of the charge cycle from what I’ve seen.

Best regards,
Lloyd

Subject: [RE-wrenches] SMA SB and LiFe

Hello all – best wishes for the new year.

I have a client with an aging (dead) AGM (16x Concorde PVX-3050T) battery bank with two Sunny Island 5048 inverters (and a few SB in the mix too) in a GTWB configuration.
Has anyone successfully replaced an AGM battery bank with a LiFe ESS solution with closed loop comms and Sunny Islands?
Something like a Fortress eVault max?

Or should I simply replace the existing AGM’s with the same model batteries and let it go another 10 years?

Thanks for the feedback!
Glenn
