We usually use timer relays so that the pump will only run x minutes out of the hr, timed so that the well has sufficient time to recharge between pump runs.
Wouldn't artificially increasing the pressure by a restriction valve cause the pump to use more energy? I have never tried that that was suggested in other comments.

Subject: [RE-wrenches] grundfos SQFlex
Hi All,
Any trick methods to keep a SQflex running on AC power at a given flow rate that is less than full power?
I’ve got a well that is just on 1 gpm, around 150’ lift.
the sqflex 3-2 will do it, but at 3gpm with full watts, an amazing 265 watts.
thx
jay
