Hey Allan,
Gigavac has many models. http://gigavac.com/ <http://gigavac.com/> Made in USA. I’ve installed about 60 of of the GX14 so far, no problems.
For batteries, here’s some specs on the MX14, 400 amp version. It will surge for 60 seconds at 1200 amps, 2000 amps for 10 seconds! Coil pickup is 4.3 amps @ 12V for 75ms, then holding current is only 240 milliamp. Might need an intermediate relay. If you do, then you can use 12-48V coil voltage.
The 350 amp model shows a UL list:
"Hermetically sealed – UL listed: UL1604 for Class I & II, Div 2 and Class III for use in hazardous
locations, IP67 for temporary water immersion for 30 min, IP69K for perssure washing, SAE J1171 - external ignition protection, and ISO8846 for protection against ignition around flammable gasses."

Larry,
What relay have you found that can handle battery/inverter current levels and would have a DC coil that could run off of the Classic's Aux? Even MDI's mercury contactors only go up to 100A.
Thanks, Allan

This means if an arc fault is detected, the Classic will shut down AND conductors leaving the array would be de-energized by switching off the HV relay. All automatically. A second relay could be connected to the battery for total system shutdown. Should be easy to build a circuit to re-energize everything after a fault.
