At 14,000 btus,  It is in easy range of even a small a mini-split. While the output is dumped into a large room, usually the living/dining, its heat or cool will in reasonable time get to the rest of the house.

</div>Hi folks,
I'm a little confused. Is the heat pump water heater used w radiant floor heating to also heat the house?

If so, 4338W/240v=18A. Pretty good for dhw and house heating.
If we convert 4338W to btuh, it's about 14,000 btuh and at 1800 sqft, about 8 btuh/sqft, again a good number for a heating load.

Going to net zero carbon, a heat pump water heater in a garage or cellar might work well for a tight, well-insulated house.

regards, bill

What kind of power draw do you see on this unit? & what kind of duty cycle do you see for 2 people or 4 people?

I amp clamped a 1800 sqft house heat pump for DHW & house heat in full power and measured 4338 watts & have a rough time recommending heat pumps for off grid.

Water heater heat pumps make excellent sense in a garage in HOT HUMID SOUTHERN CLIMATES and about 700 square feet of garage space is necessary AND you must run a condensate line like an air conditioner . DO NOT PUT THEM IN CLOSETS AND OR SMALL LAUNDRY ROOMS UNLESS YOU CAN VENT 700 square feet of unconditioned air space to them . They are noisy , but a garage in a humid hot southern climate is a good choice and with a time clock set for 11:00 AM to 4: 00 PM when the air in the garage is hot AND solar grid tied system is operating is a great strategy .
