Hi:

Here's a really good paper from Victron about in the interaction of small
generators and inverters. It has waveforms and explanations about
different types of generators and how they interact with the Victron
inverters, but all inverters behave in very similar ways.

It's a good read for getting your head around the reasons that there are,
and likely will continue to be learning opportunities for both
manufacturers and users of inverters and generators.

All the people on Wrenches are working out the user solutions, we as
inverter manufacturers are likewise working on the design solutions which
will get all of us to point where we have good solutions, good business
and happy customers.

We are all very lucky to have this forum, I'm certainly enjoying all that
I'm learning.

HI Jerry,
I've done that.
No change no matter where I set the charge rate.
IE light load on genny ( few hundred watts) or high load. So thats not the
problem.

HI All,

My question is. are there any known issues with the Radian interfacing
with a generator?

I have a customer with flickering lights.
The lights are LED ( some dimmer/some on/off)

The generator supplier says that there are lots of problems with the
Radian.
I've not heard this and don't believe it.

symptoms:
radian alone: no flicker
generator alone: no flicker
generator/charging flicker.
different generator: no flicker.

So there is no doubt its the generator.

I'm trying to get more information to go back to the customer.

Thanks

jay
