[RE-wrenches] ASP Inverters

Well, I finally got my answer. At first Eaton was very willing and able to
help. They offered to sell me an Eaton branded PV260 or PV270 inverter to
replace the ASP branded PV250, both of which I was told they had remaining
on the shelf. I got the run around for a couple of weeks, then was finally
told they don't have any remaining.

It turned out that this homeowner has the ASP solar modules that bear
fraudulent UL marks, so I didn't want to touch the system anyway. I have a
feeling I'm in for a flurry of calls in the next few years - Blue Chip
Energy (ASP's retail PV sales arm) crushed us on many contracts in the
area, selling installed systems below our material costs, and even beating
us on a large government contract.

Ugh. How do you explain to a homeowner that they now have 5kw worth of
fancy shingle protectors on their roof?
