Designing a system with a permanent generator for the second AC input is
easy enough, but we run into a lot of portable generators here that people
want to connect to a battery backup system as-needed. Power inlet boxes are
easy enough to find, but what other design considerations need to be made,
particularly for grounding?

While on the subject, I just ran into my first meter with integrated
transfer switch for a generator. The homeowner was not happy when he
learned that we would need to remove it to install a PV system. The good
news is that it should be easy enough to remove the Generlink transfer
switch and provide an inlet for the second AC input on the Radian. The
downside is the homeowner will have to carve out critical loads and can no
longer run any circuit on generator power.
