[RE-wrenches] Wet NiCad batteries

Hi Jay,   I had a set of NiCd's once and asked the list for the same
instructions as you have done.  It was an interesting exercise but I
wouldn't go through the hassle again as the hardest part was safely
disposing of the old electrolyte, and is your customer as careful about that
as you would be......?      And it wasn't just the old electrolyte but the
water you flushed them out with as well, so it was a double-banger.   So it
proved to be quite costly.   It might even pay to ask him how will he
dispose of the old electrolyte and flushing-out water, the last thing you
want is that stuff just dumped down the drain.

However the list provided me instructions via Travis Cresswell, Charlie
Robb, and Bruce from Acme Electric Solar.   I would be glad to share the
information I have with you but you might want to contact any of those I
mentioned -  I would have to fax it as it is not in e-format.

As you got the message from the tone of previous posts, it is not something
you do for the heck of it, the ones I had were real heavy and it was a
2-person job as well.   But like your customer I wanted to do it to see how
they performed afterwards, just curiosity.

I totally agree with you both.

But as you guys both know, some folks really wont take no for an answer.
This person has the money and talent to do this, and he really wants to,
just trying to get him the correct info rather than some garbage off the
WWW.
