Todd,
Take it off the wall. Do yourself a favor and buy (6) little 9 volt batteries and have enough wire jumpers handy to series them together..... test that the inverter fires up before putting it back on the wall. The batteries have enough juice to start it, but not enough to kill it if you screwed up. They also have a good video to walk you through it if you haven't done one before.

You can do it on the wall but it tends to lead to a bout of heavy drinking afterwards.
Although I have to say that after doing it on the wall 6 or 7 times, you get quite good at it.

You got great advice....take it off the wall and do not forget your grounded wrist strap!
