Hi William,
If RY8 has a bad coil or contact, you can use one of the AUX relays 
(assuming they are not being used for something else).
 If the signal is not being sent, it is more likely a control board issue. 
Boards are still available for the SW series, but they are pricey.

Thanks to all of you for recent advise on a Tristar charge controller.
 
New subject:  I have an SW4024 with a defective relay 8.  Do any of you 
know the part number for a replacement relay?  Anyone replaced one of 
these before?  Advice?
