Thanks Ryan. We are planning on installing RS485 anyway to empower a Sunny Webbox. Since we are Mac based we are counting on programming the SIs and SBs via the Webbox. SMA says it'll work.

Can anyone confirm? I have a service cable. Should I bring a PC for backup?

The RS485 cable is only needed when you want the Sunny Boy to switch between Off Grid and Grid tie.
