HI Jeremy, Bob;

That's the little strap that would slice you open if you weren't 
careful.  That's a very hard box to work in just with one inverter.  My 
recommendation would be to switch that box out for dual inverters.   Use 
Outback's Flex 500, or Midnite's Notagutter. You're trying to save the 
customer a little money, but the extra labor in trying to make that box 
work is just not worth it.  Its really  You'll end up adding an aux load 
center for something, and as you're already discovering, that box used 
breaker configurations that are becoming obsolete.
Upgrade it now or upgrade it later, but I would stop the suffering right 
now.
