[RE-wrenches] Solar Water Heating, Sensor line to electric water heater

If this is a thermister it is a milivolt circuit. Thermostat control wire at
24 VAC does not require this normally. How about a compression cord grip
type of TA?

Thanks

Normally we run the tank temperature sensor wire behind the cover plate on
the electric water heater (like it says to do in the control manufacturer's
instructions). The inspector wants it run through a hole in the tank wall or
cover plate with an "approved connector." Any ideas how to best accomplish
this?
