Todd's reply finally got me to reply too. I also deal with systems at 
high latitudes, and those with the potential of very deep snow.

With Edmonton AB at 53-1/2 degrees north latitude, I don't see an issue 
with a fixed lat + 15deg winter tilt -- when the sun does come out, the 
array will shed accumulated snow and ice quickly. If the sun isn't out, 
the point is moot. Just be sure to get the bottom of the array high 
enough off the ground.
