Hi guys,
Great advice thanks, am checking the charge test sheets to ascertain the
right SG for the new acid.
Will get this into the spilled cells ASP.
I tried getting advice from Exide but they are not answering their phones.
Temps vary between 82F and 93F year round so there could be a case to lower
the SG a little?

Carl,
DO NOT ADD DISTILLED WATER!!
1. Refill the cells that spilled with new electrolyte of the same SG
but only fill enough to cover the moss plate.
2. Charge the battery hard to ensure that all acid is out of the
positive plate.
3. Top off those that spilled with more new electrolyte.

Hi there,
I just shipped a largish bank of Exide BMPE19 flooded batteries to the
Islands.
On unloading, a pallet split and several cells lost electrolyte.
8 out of the 48 - 2V cells lost about 1/3 of their acid.
The question is would it be safe to even out the acid in the whole 48 cells
and then top up with distilled water?
Appreciate your collective wisdom.
