[RE-wrenches] Are PV Systems are considered separately derived systems?

What's the best answer when someone asks if PV Systems are considered
separately derived systems?

It still seems to be up to whoever is doing the considering (AHJ), and I
don't like that answer.

I believe the answer is yes they are.  And 690.47 tells us how to ground
them.  

"(C) Systems with Alternating-Current and Direct-Current Grounding
Requirements. Photovoltaic systems having dc circuits and ac circuits with
no direct connection between the dc grounded conductor and ac grounded
conductor shall have a dc grounding system. The dc grounding system shall be
bonded to the ac grounding system by one of the methods in (1), (2), or
(3)."
