We have integrated a standing seam roof under the array area
with the shake as a trim and keeping with the "look", and
used S-5 clips to attach the array rails to the metal roof.

Subject: [RE-wrenches] Best practices for mounting on cedar
shake roof?
Is it possible to do a weather-tight install on a cedar (or
other) shake roof in snow country with wide temperature and
moisture ranges? We usually use QuickMount or SnapNRack
flashed mounting points on composition roofs. I can't
imagine a really reliable way to go through cedar shakes and
keep moisture out of the penetration.
