[RE-wrenches] REC modules

Drake,

REC are pretty good id say.
They are big, like Sharp big. A bit of a challenge to layout on a roof.
They have a removable back on the junction box and there are 3 diodes i believe. Everything in there looks like its fastened by compression, which might be why they had that recall on the previous model line. The frames are low profile, and I noticed that the corners are crimped together, not screwed together like some of the other panels. I wonder how that will last in the long run, and in certain climates (any wrenches with experience with this type of frame fastening?) One thing I didn't like is the glass shifts around in the frame when you lift the panels over your head, but they are secure and the frame is sturdy. There are no additional cross braces like some of the other panels that size. Voltage and current are similar to many other modules.
I am impressed by the proactive recall of their previous model they sold in 2008 because they were willing to take a loss for their good standing and respectable reputation.
Not the smallest or most efficient out there, but good for the price if they fit, and you are probably buying their silicon when you buy other panels because REC group is one of the largest producers in the world.
