Allan,

We used a Solar Converters DC/DC converter on a similar system (48v)
at a vacation cabin. The owner turns off the breaker in the power
shed to reduce phantom loads from the converter when he's gone, and
the frig is left turned off. We ran 48v to the frig and installed
the converter on top of the frig. This eliminates 12v line lose from
the power shed. Works great.

take care,

Randy Brooks
