Hi Carl,
I have installed hundreds of US-64's and ES62's, on grid and off. I
don't have any documented data but I see the performance as the very
best, especially in hot climates and low light conditions. Where I am
located we have above average irradiance, 1050~1100 w/m2 and very high
UV radiation. I have tested several panels that are 8~10 years old and
all still output more than their rated power by 3% to 10% (Isc
adjusted for irradiance and temp.). I have only experienced on module
failure ever.
NREL has studied Uni-Solar modules and found that they produce 20%
more power annually than crystalline modules (eg. Santa Cruz test
site). In Australia, a very hot test site produced 30% more power than
Solarex modules. Want more? In Hopland Ca. in June 1998, Real Goods
did a "shoot out" comparison with SP75's and AstroPower AP7105's.
Result was the Uni-Solar performed up to 32.2% better!
I really like promoting high performance products for my customers but
Uni-Solar has stopped making framed panels (and yes, I am sad) to
devote the production to the laminate market. Are you still able to
get any framed panels in NZ?
Kindest Regards,
Larry Crutcher
