[RE-wrenches] Module Connectors (MC 4 Solarline Tyco)

Hi, here's a bit more info for the person who started this thread:
The new crimp tool from Multi-Contact for their 4mm connectors will work with
those and those only. A different M-C branded tool would be required for the
3mm connectors; one also needs a "boot puller" for those...all this for a
connector which appears to be in sunset mode.
Whenever something new comes out from M-C, any previous M-C tool purchases
will be "stranded". Then there's Tyco with its own specialized
tooling...puh-leeze...
AEEsolar has been offering a crimper called RENNTOOL from a European tool
manufacturer. The dies are interchangeable...what a concept! The AEE bundle
includes dies for MC3, MC4, and Tyco. (One would still need a boot puller in
order to make the original MC3 connections. For MC4, one instead needs a pair
of low cost plastic wrenches.)
Hats off to Dave Katz @ AEEsolar for being one step ahead...again. When the
"next big thing" comes along, maybe we can just buy new dies from Dave instead
of a complete new tool.
