[RE-wrenches] CFL lighting and the mercury hazard.

According to some sources, the major source of mercury in stream fish in 
California is from the 150+ year old gold mining operations. A recent NatGeo 
program went out looking, and found droplets of pure liquid mercury still 
existing in a few streams left over from the 1850's gold mines.

As with all things, I wonder if the concerns over mercury might be over 
hyped, to the exclusion of other much more serious and common health 
problems. Kind of like the blogger ranting about the micrograms of mercury 
in his CFL light, while munching on potato chips and Jolt....
