Depending on the roof, it's possible to anchor the main support rope to a fencepost, tree or some other sturdy ground mounted projection. Attaching the other end, via a come-along, to another stout point on the other side of the building. How ever you do it, be sure to protect the ridges from chaffing by the rope, especially asphalt shingles.

  Subject: [RE-wrenches] roof anchor points

  Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a roof anchor solution? What we have been doing is attaching temporary roof anchors for the duration of the installation and then removing and sealing the penetrations. We want to move to using permanent anchors. Is anyone familiar with a flashed anchor solution? Any other solutions people have come up with? Thanks!
