[RE-wrenches] SMA Sunny Island

My rusty memory was telling me the 4248 was listed by ETL.  From my
hotel room in sunny San Diego :-), a quick drill-down into ETL's Listed
Mark Directory found this:
Inverter Charge Controller, Model No. SI4248U.  Evaluated to the
following...A representative sample of the listed devices have been
tested, investigated and found to comply with the requirements of the
Standard(s) for Safety Inverters, Converters, & Controllers for Use in
Independent Power Systems (UL-1741) and are identified with the ETL
Listed Mark.

However, I would discuss (nicely) with the AHJ about the reasonableness
of their requirement to provide the manufacturer's original
certification -- after all, the inverter is either listed to UL1741 or
it isn't, and confirming this is a simple matter of looking for the
listing mark on the equipment installed.  An installer would have to be
pretty brave to try to sneak a non-listed inverter through.  Pretty soon
we'll have to do secret utility-interactive handshakes to prove our
worthiness. Although now that I think of it, that certainly would make
the floor show this week far more entertaining.....

Thanks for the reply,

Our utility (National Grid) however has recently started requiring a
copy of
the original certification issued to the manufacturer of the equipment,
so
this has been insufficient. As has the cut sheet which bears the ETL
stamp,
or the web page that said it was tested successfully. We have to submit
the
UL or other certification for each install we do in their territory at
this
time.

So I need a copy of the certificate issued to SMA for this product -
their
other certifications are listed on their website, but not this one.
