PV Watt Calculator & Snow covering [RE-wrenches]

Tump,
Another try with my sensitive touch pad on my laptop. My experience with
snow is erratic. This winter with Global Warming and rain every week this
winter in Vermont has shown snow attachment to my array due to wet snowfall
with dropping temperatures. But we have also had warm enough temps to be sure
the arrays clear when the sun is strong. I would guess that every specific
array location (with differences in elevation, wind and other factors), will
make it hard to get a correction factor. My gut feeling here is that we lose
about 10 to 30% of possible power production during the winter if arrays are
not cleared manually. This could be much higher in high snow areas where it
may not slide off or melt off. It is raining again on our last shot of some
power snow. In the past, I have seen snow cover on roofs for over a month
and a half due to very cold temperatures but not this year.

We are still trying to get good solar data from customer all over Vermont to
see what the maximum variations in power production really are with similar
systems.
