[RE-wrenches] battery box fan

HI Larry
I am sorry I misunderstood your query, What you need is a 12 V. coil relay capable of handeling the DC fan current at 48 volts.  I usually go to grainger for these, 12 volt coil (DC) and contact rating of a single pole single throw relay, or a two pole, single throw and wire the contacts in series.  Find the current rating of the Fan and make sure the relay contact rating is greater than this.
