STXR replacement? [RE-wrenches]

Hi Bruce,

We get called out to replace old 48 V Trace systems from time to time and we have found it fairly straightforward to rewire the array to bump it up to high voltage territory. Most the time all of the rewiring can be done in the junction boxes in an hour or less once you get your head wrapped around it. Then, you can use an up to date high efficiency inverter. Then again, you have to make sure that the existing array has an appropriate number of panels to be rewired.

Good luck! -August

Subject: STXR replacement? [RE-wrenches]

Hello All,

I'm sure this question has been covered at some point. But, is there
a replacement inverter for the old 48 volt nominal Xantrex STXR? Any
batteryless 48 volt grid tie inverters on the market that I might not
be aware of? Xantrex's only solution for this 3-months-past-warranty
inverter meltdown is to offer a new GT3.3 at half price, which would
involve rewiring the array, if possible.

Thanks in advance,

Bruce Erickson
