Sunny Boy 700: AC coupling question [RE-wrenches]

Mick,
Consider the Sunny boy 1100, if it's still available (not sure). Small size,
slightly higher DC voltage range, 230VAC output, and old enough that it
didn't have a zero-crossing reference neutral. This option avoids the
transformer losses.

Subject: Sunny Boy 700: AC coupling question [RE-wrenches]

The preferred battery based inverter for my project du monde is pure
sine, 60 hz, but 230 volt AC with no neutral.

To "AC couple" a Sunny Boy 700 with that inverter, can I insert a 2:1
transformer to double the Sunny Boy's AC output voltage so it can hook
up with the battery based inverter?

Could anyone suggest a source for a high efficiency (toroid?) type 2:1
converter appropriate for this sub kilowatt load?
