try this;
1 small onion
1/4 cup olive oil -- or something
1 large or 2 small gray squirrels dressed and properly cooled
1 quart soup stock -- or water
maybe a few peppercorns
Veggies;
1 cup sliced carrots
2 -3 med. potatoes
maybe peas or something green
salt to taste/preserve
brown the onion / garlic in olive oil, add squirrels and do the same
(oregano might liven them up some). Cover w/ stock, peppercorns and simmer a
few hours. Let cool. Separate meat and bones. return meat to stock and add
veggies. Simmer till done. salt, Pepper, garlic to taste. --or -- omit taters ,
thicken and serve over rice or noodles. serve with red wine -- or beer. works
with most small game -- rabbit, woodchuck, or even raccoon. serves 4 -- or two
hogs.
also, there's an outfit that makes powerless 22 rounds -- shoots 22 cal
pellets -- turns a bolt action into a pellet shooter -- lethal on small game
up to like 100' -- low noise, no smoke. good luck. db
