Jay,
and Bob - - - Lorentz will sell equipment to anyone willing to take the
risk. They have been after us for over a year now to carry their
trackers, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Why you ask? Lorentz
is a Chinese company (owned by a very personable German guy), and as
such, if "something goes wrong" you don't just send it in for a fix
I have heard from a fellow wrench that they are, in his words,
"clunky", and prone to electronic failure. But man are they cheap!
Another comment I have heard is that the bits and peices that make them
up are pretty crude. This probably doesn't really matter that much if
you're putting in one, but if it's a big array it could be a real
problem for you and your crew. I mentioned to Bob quite a while ago that
we were considering this line, but I think we'll probably stick with
Wattsun, as well as the smallish, but expensive, Monoflo GPS-based
trackers that are part of our Monoflo solar pump offering.
