Subject: Sanyo panel short MC wires [RE-wrenches]
I'm mounting Sanyo HIP panels horizontally on Horizontal roof rails
(unirac sunframe). I found that Sanyo panels do not have enough wire
length to be pulled to the side rails and tied down. There is just
enough wire to connect the panels plus a couple of inches. The panels
do not have a curl under frame, so there aren't any mounting locations
on panels to place a clip or strain relief. I have not found a
reasonable solution other than to let the MCs dangle down onto the
roof - which makes me uncomfortable, not what I feel is "best practice".
Has anyone else dealt with this? Has anyone seen issues with MCs
rubbing on rooftops due to wind or ice issues that has caused issues
over time.
