[RE-wrenches] System bond through DC GFP

Generally a system bonding conductor must be as large as the GEC, 8 AWG
minimum. Inverter manufacturer's often have a smaller conductor make
the system bond through the inverter's GFP. For factory assembled and
listed products, the small conductor is obviously accepted by a
testing/listing lab. The MidNite and Outback GFPs are often field
installed and they come pre-wired with 14 AWG. Obviously this is large
enough if the GFP trips at 1/2-amp or 1-amp. Seems to me that the Code
section that requires a DC GFP should address the system bonding
conductor size.
