Old style metal roofs [RE-wrenches]

Any suggestions on mounting to a conventional metal roof that is screwed 
to z purlins.  These are seams that are maybe 2-1/2 to 3" wide on the 
bottom and 1-1/2" to 2" wide on the flat top (not the curved type.)

DP&W has a saddle that straddles the seam and you bolt a L-foot to it.  
Anyone use this before?  any suggestions?
