Three phase inverter to single phase service [RE-wrenches]

I believe that a roto phase would have to be started first then the inverter would latch on. this could be done using a voltage sense relay & perhaps a time delay. The issue would be using a roto phase consumes power. How big is the inverter? Would this really be reliable, cost effective?

I'm under the impression that a phase converter will not really work in

reverse. I have no experience with phase converters.

Existing three-phase batteryless inverter needs to go to single phase

120/240 service.

I expect that the challenge is how to present the three-phase inverter with

waves stable enough to synchronize - that is if a phase converter (rotary, I

assume) would work in the reverse direction of its intended design of taking

single to three phase. Perhaps the motor would run in reverse?

I scratched my head about transformers and ended up with nothing.

Thanks for comments,

erika

How about a phase converter?
