Hi All, We have been paying a lead surcharge from 8% to 12% a month for
the past 18 months, I now get a pro-forma invoice valid 30 days when
ordering.
I was quoted £120 ( $ 250 ) / tonne for scrap lead last month in the UK by a
battery recycling company. The shipping docs & specs for scrap batteries,
well you need a lawyer to sort that out for you. Bunded containers, double
sealed boxes etc. etc. Shipping cost to UK £180 /
tonne........recycle.......do me a favour........nicads they'll charge you
£300 / tonne......to pick them up.........all a big con.
Being a wool producer I understand that if every Chinaman bought two pairs
of woollen socks a year there is not be enough wool produced in the world to
meet this demand; maybe every Chinaman wants an automobile.....plus battery!

Cheers Clive
