Jeremy,

Just as there are no listed batteries, I don't believe there are any 
listed battery enclosures.  Storage batteries are covered in NEC section 
480 - a pretty skimpy section of code.  Two particular items of interest:

NEC 480.9 (B) requires live parts to be guarded per 110.27.  However 
110.27 only requires equipment operating over 50 volts to be guarded (by 
approved enclosures).

NEC 480.8 (B) specifically allows wood battery boxes.
