I second the vote for Thomas. They consistently place in the top ratings on
various construction magazine tool shoot outs, and are built for
professional use. Available through Tool Crib, the cost isn't out of line
with other brands, considering the quality.
I've got a Thomas pancake oil-less compressor that is designed for low
starting current. It starts fine on my FX2024, even with other tools going.
It replaced a Porter Cable cheapo (one of the ones that come with free
staple guns) that couldn't run off my DR2424. I had a 50/50 chance of
either tripping the 20A breaker when the voltage sagged on startup, or
shutting down the inverter. Unhappy.

good day Jay,
You may want to look into the Thomas air
compressors(www.thomasairpac.com). I think that they are all oil-less,
quiet and low current draw/cfm. Somewhat expensive, but should last a
lifetime.
good luck,
Tom
