Allan (and others in need of street/parking lot type PV lights),

Dan Whigham of SC Solar, one of our very own Wrenches, just happens to have
the hands-down best thing out there for these types of applications. His
product, the X-35 has field-proven performance and offers by far the best
light in terms of quality, innovation, and color rendering on the market.
No BS.

Not only that, the X-35 was recently ETL listed to UL 1598 as a complete
outdoor luminaire, so your local AHJ and/or requesting agency will have no
problems accepting it right off the bat. He's done the legwork for you.
Un-retouched nighttime photos, product documentation, and an application
submission form are available on his website at the following link.

His light is built in a widely used street light configuration for
durability, standardized acceptance, and retrofit application. The
reflector is custom made to give the best light distribution and quality.
The light, including modules & battery/control box comes pre-assembled for
ready attachment to your pole and foundation. I've seen it, touched it, and
tested it. It works and it is VERY impressive in all aspects.

Each system is customized per your location and basic requirements (yes,
weather & # of hours per nite do matter).

Give Dan a call at 803-802-5522 or send him an e-mail with your site
location, desired number of hours per night of operation, minimum footcandle
requirements (if you know them), and application description (in Allan's
case a basketball court). His application submission form is simple and
easy and takes care of all the above for you.

He uses sophisticated photo-metric modeling software, standard to the
lighting industry, to generate a "map" of exactly where the light will be on
the ground and how intense it will be at hundreds of points. (All that
sounds pretty complex, but it's exactly what lighting engineers do. It's
what your cities and counties are looking for.)

No, this is not a paid endorsement and Dan & I are both straight... In case
anybody had any doubts.

Pray for Sun, ya'll!
