Yes, I see what you are referring to at:

They don't mention a special dimmer, and they are marketed for incad  
replacement. I suppose they use a regular dimmer.

The ones I have for DC, Taylorbrite, take a special dimmer. It ties  
into a 3rd control wire on the light fixture. Very expensive though.  
It's a premium marine product.
