I really like my IR temperate gun.  Just point the red dot(s) to get instant
and accurate indications of temp, especially useful for troubleshooting all
types of solar installations.  DHW feed and return piping, swimming pool
water, collector and piping, as well as comparing individual PV modules and
cell temps, and for checking each battery connection, it's amazing how much
heat is generated by resistance.  Sure makes it easy finding the source of
problems or potential future problems. My Daystar meter and Pathfinder are
also great tools that at times seem to be worth their weight in gold.
