The last Kubota diesel I installed needed a $350 "Start" card to be two wire
started, and has been a nightmare to start in winter, even with repeated
start attempts, running only on fossil diesel.

The Onan diesels [though not small] have been totally trouble free and great
at starting, running on fossil diesel, B-20 and in summer B-40 and B-100.

Generators with Lister- Petter diesel engines? [spelling] have been quite
reliable though I have lost track of that line for a while.

Interested in what people have found for small diesel generators for off
grid power systems.
There is an interest in them because of Biodiesel.

I have worked with Kubota 6.5K gensets. Operate OK with an OB system, can
have an annoying pulsation in the output (make the lights pulse when working
hard).

Anybody have other recommendations in addition to the Kubota?

Dave
