Flashing "L" Feet [RE-wrenches]

Hi Dean and Ken,

Yes Dean, that's exactly what I was picturing. I don't worry much
about an exposed lag on "L" feet under the array in CA, but with most
perimeter mounting systems (e.g. sunframe, Flushmount) the top row of
"L" feet are exposed to UV. Also all feet are exposed to ice damning
in my New England jobs.

This list has discussed this many times before, and the general drift
was post and flashing for new construction and "L" feet or Tile Trac
on top of comp okay for newish retrofit comp. But when I saw the
Flat Jack, I started to reconsider. I've also had customers question
the exposed lagged L feet.

So your method Dean sounds pretty appealing to me (given the $17.50
price of Flat Jacks). The nice thing abut the fast jacks is they
have a dome for the lag bolt and then a block for mounting systems
that need a vertical post rather than the horizontal bolt you get
with L feet. But a couple of Ls solve the orientation (or using
powerrail or unirac) and the lag is not really thick enough to cause
a problem with flat flashing.

Anyone else?

peace,
