Yes, apparently they are using a radically different wire sizing chart then
us. Maybe not putting the batteries in boxes or using the readily available
factory sheet metal you're able to triple and quadruple the ampacity of the
wire. That takes the "open air" rating to the extreme.

Looking at those photos was indeed enlightening. They seem to have
addressed the entire issue of difficulty in bending 4/0 THHN (VS fine
stranded non-UL welding cable) by simply using much smaller wires (That
#8THHN is so much easier to bend!). Talk about thinking outside the box (Oh
there was no battery box).
