Electronic pulses at certain frequencies are the best way to soften the 
sulfur so it can be re-integrated in the solution.  If you zap the battery 
all you do is knock the sulfur off of the plates to the bottom of the 
battery.  Do this enough and the battery will eventually short.  Plus on an 
older bank you take the chance of warping the plates.
