So split phase is just center taped single phase?  Single phase takes the 
two hot wires off at 180 degrees.  So in the terminology of split phase, do 
we count 90 degrees to neutral from line 1, and then 90 degrees from 
neutral to line 2?  From reading the American Electrician's Handbook 
explanation, I thought it was something different.
