Hi Allen,

I know of no documented cases.  I can't see the cell's power output
degrading from this, but the effects of the pollutants on the frame and
backing might be worth investigating.  I do remember something in
Sharp's warranty about not covering damage from acid rain.

A client of ours has requested an answer to this question: Is there any
known history of PV modules degrading from close proximity to any
substances (NOx, water vapor, ozone, etc.) that are normal byproducts of
combustion from a nearby boiler vent stack?
